07 - Recurrent Amphibian/Seaplane
The DHC-6 Amphibian/Seaplane Recurrent course consists of one (1) additional day of amphibian-specific training that supplements the standard DHC-6 Series 400 wheelplane recurrent course. This single day of training is not available as a stand-alone module and must be taken in conjunction with the standard wheelplane recurrent course.
Duration
The training will be four (4) days. (It can be five (5) days if optional skill test/PPC is required)
Prerequsites
Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or military equivalent
Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MIFR)
Multi-Engine Seaplane Rating
Current type rating on DHC-6-400 amphibian/seaplane
Aviation English (level 4)
Applicants must meet the licensing requirements and specific details for individual permits, licenses, ratings and medical requirements
Most recent experience on type within the past two years
Training Description
Ground School (GS)
Web-Based Training: 25 hours (pre-study)
Instructor-Led Training: 8 hours (1 day)
Full Flight Simulator (FFS) – Wheels
Duration: 8 hours (2 days, 4 hours PF and 4 hours PM)
Training Device: Twin Otter Series 400 Level-D Simulator
Full Flight Simulator (FFS) – Amphibian/Seaplane
Duration: 4 hours (1 day, 2 hours PF and 2 hours PM)
Training Device: Twin Otter Series 400 Level-D Simulator
